Jim Comer is one of the most fun and unique guests to have been interviewed on Tell Us a Good Story. This man moved to NYC in his mid-20s with the goal of becoming rich and famous. So he became an actor and comedian…and then became broke! To earn extra income to help pay off his debts, he went on TV game shows including Jeopardy and The $10,000 Pyramid with Dick Clark.

THEN he was hired by Lorne Michaels to be one of the original writers for Saturday Night Live in 1975 before writing jokes for Joan Rivers and Bob Hope. THEN his first book, How to Survive a Roommate, landed him a spot on the Today Show and an interview with Jane Pauley. His stories are endless!

However, after his father suffered a massive stroke and his mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Jim Comer found himself an overnight “parent” at the age of 51. This 14-year experience led him to write the book When Roles Reverse: A Guide to Parenting Your Parents.
