In this episode of Tell Us a Good Story, Kevin and Steph invite the amazing Mike Owens to have a fun and enlightening conversation with them. Owen’s has had a very successful career in animation, recently winning an Oscar to sit alongside his Emmy award for his work as an animator.
Owens shares what it felt like for him to hear his name called at the Emmy’s and running on stage to accept his award, along with what it was like to work on some iconic commercial characters like the cereal characters Toucan Sam, Tony the Tiger, The Keebler Elves, Cap’n Crunch and the Trix Rabbit. He also helped create Charlie Tuna for StarKist.
The world of animation spans from movies to shows to commercials and it’s a cutthroat career to make headway in, Owens made his mark and it is very interesting seeing his side of making it in such a difficult career.
